Breastfeeding can be a pretty frustrating experience. This is a team activity, but your star player doesn’t really know what is going on. Meanwhile, you are dealing with aching nipples, inadequate supply, and a brand-new clogged duct every week. If you could use a little help, it’s time to call in an expert! As a Tri-Cities newborn photographer, I love working alongside parents to make sure this season can be as magical as possible. Here are the best spots to find lactation consultants in Tri-Cities.
Tri-Cities, Washington
Flourish & Flow Lactation was opened up by Lorana Ard, a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and Speech Language Pathologist. Lorana has over 10 years of experience supporting families through a wide range of struggles. She offers in-home and virtual care that is as comprehensive as it is convenient. Together, you will work together to create a care plan that will yield actual results. You can additionally book group classes that will have you prepared before your baby even arrives.

Feeding Well is a practice that was opened by Julia Peck in 2023 to help you get past any potential obstacles for a happier breastfeeding experience. Your care with her can start before your due date with her prenatal consultation, where you can learn how to be ready for those early feedings. Once your baby arrives, you can have guidance through her initial lactation/feeding consultations. After she creates a care plan, you can book a follow-up for continued support.

Best Starts was founded by Tonya Ethington, a mom of four who knows from experience how hard those early months of breastfeeding can be. Before she got her start as a lactation consultant, she worked as a Registered Nurse in a Nursery and Pediatric Unit. She brings this unique expertise to each visit, providing you with comprehensive appointments that will get to the bottom of any struggle. Following your one-hour appointment, she will provide you with a follow-up email or text.

Tri-Cities, Washington
Sand and Sage Postpartum Care is a practice run by Jessica, a doula as well as a mom of two. She got started with her career after going through a difficult postpartum experience with her own child. Now, she works across the area, giving new moms the support they so desperately need. When you hire her, you will start out by establishing your goals for breastfeeding. From there, she is going to walk you through things like breastfeeding positions, latching, weaning, and returning to work. By the end, you will feel completely confident through every feeding session!
If you could use some help with your breastfeeding journey, I really think you are going to adore these lactation consultants in Tri-Cities. With all of these practices, you can have customized and compassionate care.
